Twitter reacts to Larry Nance Jr. NOT winning Dunk of the Year

Monday night marked the first ever NBA Awards show and many players took home honors such as Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player and Rookie of the Year.

Spectacular plays, including Dunk of the Year, were also acknowledged by the NBA last night with San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard taking home Block of the Year and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry getting Assist of the Year.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Victor Oladipo won the inaugural “best dunk” of the season for his humiliating attack on then Atlanta Hawks center Dwight Howard.

He edged out Los Angeles Lakers‘ forward Larry Nance Jr. – who many considered to be the favorite for his dunk on now-teammate, then Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez.

Nance Jr.’s dunk immediately was the topic of Twitter, with multiple fans and athletes tweeting about what just happened.

Twitter was up-in-arms again last night when Nance did not win the award. The 24-year old even joined in, showing how he felt with his own tweet.
